Pastor Fredrick L. Small

He joined the Army in 1976 after completing high school in Canton. He retired from the Army with 30 years of distinguished service as Sgt Major (E9), ending his career serving our country’s military as a Chaplain’s Assistant responsible for the pastoral care of thousands of soldiers. He was a member of the Alabama and Mississippi National Guard. He retired from W. C. Bradley Co., Columbus, Georgia with the Excellent Service Award from CEO Bradley Turner and a certificate of completion from the W. C. Bradley Leadership Development Academy. From 2006 until 2011, he served as the pastor of Christ Temple Missionary Baptist Church, Columbus, Georgia. As the “under-shepherd” for Christ Temple Missionary Baptist Church, he preached the Word of God; led sinners to Christ; taught the application of biblical principles in everyday situations during Sunday School and Bible Study; provided parental counseling; assisted congregants with job searches and mentored many young people.

One of his greatest accomplishments -besides winning many souls- was to get a new steeple for the church and to purchase an organ.  His tenure as pastor of Christ Temple was fruitful and all the glory goes to God! He has served as Armor Bearer for Rev. C. Medley Hayes, Columbus, Georgia, and the late Rev. E. Thurman Walker, San Antonio, TX.  He has also served as a faithful member of the Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church and pulpit assistant to Pastor Rev. Dr. J. H. Flakes, III. He provided guidance and support to the Youth, Military, and Transportation Ministries, among others.
